Higher added value through pre-assembly

The beginnings of automation in the assembly of mechanical seals at KACO go back more than 30 years. Mechanical seals are used in water pumps and in the field of electric mobility for the automotive industry. A mechanical seal consists of up to twelve individual parts, some of which are manufactured by KACO or procured from external suppliers. Assembly is based on KACO’s many years of experience and core competence in the complex assembly of individual components, especially the non-rigid rubber components.

Due to the now high level of automation, errors during assembly are virtually eliminated. “100 % inspections” to ensure the assembly process and the perfect functioning of the seals can be carried out safely and cost-effectively using modern camera technology. The functional tests such as leakage test and contact force test have also been automated.

The assembly of the individual parts results in a higher added value compared to the pure production of individual parts. Our customers appreciate this. They receive ready-to-install components and can thus concentrate on their own core competencies.
