Improve CAE development process sustainably
How does a component behave under operating conditions? How can deformations and material stresses be simulated? At our company, CAE know-how is called in at an early stage of development. This allows us to reduce development times and optimise the design of parts and strength values. This is made possible by our numerical simulation methods, which make lasting contributions to modern development processes. Accelerated processes lead to more cost-effective developments and higher quality.
KACO has many years of experience with software simulations and elastomers. Tests show that the material data obtained from our simulations are highly consistent with results from field tests. To achieve this, KACO uses simulation methods such as FEM calculation to develop components. This data provides information on material behaviour, which is of direct use to us in the CAD system.
We can determine the framework conditions and the course of the simulations individually and thus easily adapt them to our product and the requirements.
FEM calculation
Elastomer seals are subject to ever-increasing demands in terms of functionality and service life. KACO incorporates modern simulation methods such as FEM calculation (finite element method) into the development of components. Important parameters of the manufacturing process are also simulated. The simulation calculations focus on material behaviour as well as contact and friction. In particular, the KACO model is used, a material model developed in-house to describe elastomers.
Structural mechanics
Knowledge of the component behaviour under operating loads can have a decisive influence on the design parameters already at the design stage. For this purpose, we can offer you simulation calculations with the following focal points:
- Component stress such as stress, strain and energy
- Non-linear material behaviour, even with large deformations and strains
- Inelastic material behaviour
- Viscoelastic material behaviour
- Dynamic material behaviour
- Contact and friction
- Determination of material properties
Process simulation of elastomers
The manufacturing and feasibility of elastomer components should be known or sufficiently investigated at an early stage of development. This avoids unnecessary costs and enables the production of high-quality components. Based on our many years of experience in this field, we offer you this service with the following focal points:
- Simulation of different parameters of the manufacturing process
- Filling process, air inclusions, flow defects, confluence
- Heating time calculation
- Vulcanisation simulation
- Clamping force calculation
Multi Physics
We can also support you in the simulation of coupled phenomena (multi-physics). Our fields of activity are mainly in the area of magnetostatic calculations.
