Industrial mechanic (f/m/d) + study mechanical engineering
(cooperative with the HHN)
What does an industrial mechanic (f/m/d) + student (f/m/d) of mechanical engineering do?
Industrial mechanics work in production and maintenance, where they ensure that machines and production facilities are always ready for operation. They set them up and check their functions. To do this, they follow suitable test procedures, determine the causes of faults, order suitable spare parts or make them themselves and carry out repairs. After completing assembly and testing work, they instruct their colleagues in operation and handling. As a mechanical engineering student, you design and develop products, which you coordinate with the customer.
How long does the training and study period last?
The training is shortened and therefore only lasts two years (instead of 3.5). Within the training period, studies at Heilbronn University are commenced after 1.5 years.
During the first semester, the written and oral final examination for the training occupation of industrial mechanic takes place. The entire study period lasts 3 ¼ years. During this time, students can work in the company during the semester breaks.
In addition, there is a practical semester in the company towards the end of the course. The total duration is 4.8 years, and a great
advantage is that you are always in contact with the company.
